Scott Glaspey
Head Coach - Speed-Power
Scott Glaspey has been skillfully coaching athletes at the provincial and national levels since the 1970's, with many going on to win various provincial, national, and international titles.
Glaspey started his track and field career in California when he was in grade 11, before going on to junior college and university, competing in shot put and discus. A few years after moving to Powell River in 1971, he became involved in the local track club.
With experience in coaching multi-event athletes , Scott excels in training athletes in shotput, discuss, hurdles, sprints, as well as long and triple jump.

Connie Polman-Tuin
Connie Polman-Tuin is a highly experienced coach and athlete across a breadth of disciplines. Connie is an Olympic heptathlete, competing in the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics, a Pan-Am Junior Heptathlon Champion, 1987 Pan American Games Heptathlon Silver medalist, and has held numerous national and provincial records.
Her years as an elite multi-event athlete has given Connie critical insight into numerous events. This first-hand experience is invaluable in helping athletes perfect the technical execution of hurdles, sprints, jumps, and throws.
Connie trained with Scott since the beginning of her track & field career, and the duo continues to give countless hours back to the competitive community to help ensure local track & field athletes get the support they need.

Head Coach - Endurance
Tyler Bartfai
Tyler began coaching locally in 2019 at Brooks Secondary School, and joined forces with the PR Track and Field club in 2024.
Tyler began competing in track in middle-school and went on to race collegiately at the University of Guelph in middle distance events as well as cross country. Some of the athletes that Tyler has coached have gone on to compete at and medal in provincial and national championships, including Legion Nationals, BC Highschool Championships, and the BC Summer Games.
Tyler's main coaching goal is to prevent athletes from learning lessons needlessly the hard way. He believes that consistency and recovery are two of the most important factors in training and will go a long way in self improvement.
